304H is a modification of 304L with a higher carbon content of 0,04% to 0,1% and 304H does not have the 0,10% nitrogen max. limit.

The high carbon results in increased strength of the steel, particularly at elevated temperatures (generally above about 500°C). The grain size requirement may have to be satisfied by extra testing and must be 7 or coarser.
